Skønvirke Hand Painted Ceramic Pendant
A fine Scandinavian skønvirke hand-painted ceramic pendant of upright oval shape encased in an ornate silver-gilt frame.
Decorated with a stylised floral and foliate design, mainly in shades of blue, green, yellow and brown with little flecks of gold highlights.
The fancy bale matches the frame of the pendant and is attached to a fine old Arts & Crafts necklace chain which simply fits over the head.
Marked on the reverse with initials that appear to read M.M. but could just possibly be .W.W – either way we are unable to find a likely name in any of our reference books.
The pendant and bale measure just over 7.5 cm in length and the necklace chain is approximately 71 cm long.
