Pair of French Art Deco patinated art metal bookends from Max Le Verrier titled ‘Délassement’ (Relaxation), the design dating from circa 1930.
Each with a seated, almost nude young woman holding at arms length a book which she’s quietly reading.
She’s resting the book on her knees which are drawn up in front of her as she strikes an elegant and typically Art Deco pose.
Signed M. Le Verrier and impressed with the Le Verrier foundry stamp.
