Art Nouveau Mirror with Repoussé Brass Frame*
Fine looking French Art Nouveau mirror for wall hanging.
The wooden frame with its shaped outline is faced with brass, repoussé decorated all round in a pattern of vine leaves and bunches of grapes, together with a pair of rather wonderful looking dragons, mouths agape as they are about to devour a red agate oval cabochon placed in the centre of the bottom strut.
Dating from approaching 1920 and probably from the workshop of the Paris based L’Artisan Pratique.
Measuring 64 cm high by 34.5cm wide at the widest point, the mirror is in good overall condition, commensurate with its age.
