Handsome Negro Boy*
Absolutely super Goldscheider terracotta bust of a Negro boy with his shirt open and his fine chest exposed. He has a wonderfully lifelike and seriously thoughtful expression on his face.
As usual with this producer, the painting – of the skin, the hair, everything in fact – is top quality.
Marked with the first Goldscheider terracotta applied plaque, the letter ‘P’ and numbered 1045/34. Dating from the Orientalist period, c. 1896/97.
Condition is very good with just a small chip to the underside of the base. Approximately 55 cm in height.
