Girl in Lilac Hat*
Framed and glazed Art Deco gouache painting of a stylised smiling young lady wearing a fashionable cloche hat and holding in her hand two cornflowers.
Her eyes are the same shade of blue as the flowers, although one is partially hidden by the edge of her hat.
Using well chosen pastel colours, this is a striking image that is monogrammed in the bottom left corner with the initials AJ or possibly JA. However, we’ve been unable to find any information on the artist.
We have left it in the old original silver and black frame as it is so very Art Deco, but it does have a few nibbles around the edges.
The frame measures 44 X 34 cm, with the image alone approximately 34 X 22.5 cm.
Dating from the 1920’s.
