French Gold Brooch with Enamelled Portrait
French 14 ct. gold circular brooch dating from circa 1880.
Framed by a ring of little seed pearls, the concave central area is decorated with the portrait of a finely dressed lady in the Orientalist style set against a subtly patterned background.
Beautifully made, the face of the brooch is raised from the backing frame on an open meshwork ring as can be seen in our final photo.
Marked on the C clasp 585 for 14 ct. and measuring just a fraction over 2.5 cm in diameter.
