Sterling silver brooch depicting a Dan African mask made to commemorate the Paris Colonial Exposition of 1931.

A striking full face image with an undoubtedly strong look, the female mask is wearing a highly ornate headdress and huge hooped earrings.

The severe facial expression with half shut eyes and  firmly set mouth adds to the overall impact, this being a brooch that most definitely won’t go unnoticed when worn.

Showing a French silver mark and measuring just a touch under 8 cm in height.  

The Paris Exposition was held to showcase France’s beneficial efforts in their colonies overseas and was a huge success, attracting millions of visitors from all over the world.
