Alabaster and marble bust signed by the Belgian sculptor G. (Gustave) Van Vaerenbergh.
Loosely sited on an octagonal marble base, the smiling young girl is wearing a bonnet and looking slightly to her right.
The different varieties of marble used, together with the ivory coloured alabaster, give this bust an attractive and elegant look.
Displays beautifully and, as can probably be imagined, for its size – just 33 cm high – it is quite weighty.
