Bastiani Bronze Bust*
Well detailed patinated bronze bust of a delightful looking young lady by the Italian sculptor Bastiani, about whom very little is known.
Dating from the late 19th century, this is a fine study portraying the model coyly looking downward as if just realising that her top has slipped off her left shoulder.
She wears flowers and ribbons in her long hair which is swept up at the sides and falling down her back.
Signed verso and mounted on a two-tier black striated marble base. The height is approximately 31 cm and the bust is in excellent condition with just a small chip to one corner of the marble.
