Exceptional pair of Art Deco cubist bronze and marble bookends. Great looking stylised cats with a lovely greenish-bronze patina.
Set on black and white striated marble, the design cleverly allows them to be used and displayed in two ways, each looking equally appealing. When placed lengthwise, the cats are seen climbing upwards, but turn them upright and they are looking along the ground, having almost climbed back down.
Dating from the 1920’s these are extremely eye-catching. Measuring just over 18 cm X 14 X 10 wide.
