Pewter Trinket Tray*
Item Description
Art Nouveau dark pewter trinket tray or vide poche depicting a Greek sea goddess – possibly Amphitrite – reclining on the surface of a rough sea. She is holding a lyre and looking towards what appears to be a sailing ship on the horizon – ensuring its safe passage through the storm one assumes.
A very nicely detailed piece designed by Jean Garnier, whose signature can be seen at the lower right-hand side.
The length is approximately 25 cm and the width 16cm. Standing a little under 4 cm high and dating from the very early 1900’s.
