Charles Horner Scarab Pendant*
Silver and enamel scarab pendant necklace from Charles Horner.
The scarab hangs on two short chains from a circular suspender, enamelled in the same greeny-blue shade as its body, with the wings being just a little lighter.
All the chainwork is original, matching throughout.
Hallmarked Chester with the date mark a little unclear but looking to be for the year 1916.
Lit: Charles Horner of Halifax by Tom J. Lawson, the same scarab design is illustrated on p. 60 as a brooch and p. 163 in the form of a hatpin.
