Brooch attr. to Edward Spencer
Highly individual domed silver brooch decorated with enamel in shades of green, orange and golden yellow, set in the centre with a high cabochon fire opal.
Circular in outline and tapering as it rises until it is the same height as the diameter.
Fine detail to the silverwork, the frame at the base of the brooch showing a toothed top edge with stylised leaves and fruits above and fine twisted silver wirework just below the setting for the stone.
There is a small fixed ring attached to the back which probably once connected to a safety chain.
No marks but attributed to Edward Spencer (1872-1938} and measuring 2.5 cm in diameter by approximately the same height.
