Arts & Crafts Silver Suffragette Necklace
English Arts & Crafts necklace with ornate silver wirework and a detail of heart-shaped leaves and little berrries, set with green and pinkish violet semi-precious and paste stones and circular mother-of-pearl discs – the chosen colours of the Suffragette movement.
A quality piece of hand-made Arts& Crafts jewellery that we are certain originated from one of the Guilds or Schools that were the source of so much splendid original jewellery during the early 1900’s.
Openwork in style with six short loops of chain separating the various individual elements of the necklace, and with three matching drops set with teardrop shaped pink paste stones.
The chainwork is all original and includes a fine hand-made double ‘S’ type clasp.
Opened out, the necklace has a total length of 44 cm, with the decorative section measuring 14.5 cm wide.
