Limoges Portrait Brooch
Item Description
Circular brooch in high carat gold featuring a Limoges enamelled head and shoulders portrait of a lady.
She’s turned slightly to one side and the flesh tones vividly stand out against the dark background as do the colours of her bonnet and dress.
The enamelled copper plaque is set within an ornate gold frame with a rope pattern detail providing the inner border.
Monogrammed towards the left hand side with initials that appear to read AP.
A gold safety chain is attached to the back of the frame for extra security when wearing.
Circa 1900 and with a diameter of 4.25 cm.
