Arts & Crafts Enamelled Butterfly
Beautifully enamelled picture of a butterfly on a plant stem, surrounded by leaves and berries.
Its wings are in electric shades of blue while the remainder is enamelled in greens and reds set against a dark blue background.
The square panel is mounted inside an Arts & Crafts beaten copper surround which is further attached to a solid mahogany frame.
There is no signature apparent and we're not entirely sure if the origin might be English or Scottish but it is a delightful piece and dates from around the 1890's.
The enamel area is a fraction over 7 cm square and the overall framed size is around 15 cm square. Wire for hanging has been attached behind.
