Art Nouveau Pendant by Smith & Ewen*
Art Nouveau silver and enamel pendant made by the Birmingham silversmiths Smith and Ewen, hallmarked for the year 1909.
The circular background with its detail of three little heart-shaped silver leaves, is overlaid with a multi-colour enamelled trefoil design and in its centre is set a round mother-of-pearl plaque.
Below the pendant hangs a little silver drop showing a teardrop shaped detail in dark blue enamel.
With the S&E maker’s mark on the back and approximately 5 cm long including the bale and the drop. The silver necklace chain measures 56 cm.
