Young Boy by Lenoir*
Compact sized bisque bust of a handsome young boy with long, tousled hair signed A. Lenoir. He is bare-chested apart from part of a cloak held by a strap across his right shoulder.
The French born sculptor André Alfred Alexandre Lenoir lived from 1850 – 1920 and bacame a member of the Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux Arts in 1905.
We are unsure exactly who the subject of this bust is but it’s a delightfully detailed piece and in excellent condition. There appear to be a couple of small monograms or other markings, one just above the signature and the other at the back.
The height is a little over 21 cm and the width around 19.5 cm.
