Walker & Hall Art Nouveau Silver Bowl*
Fine quality Art Nouveau silver bowl from the Sheffield silversmiths Walker & Hall.
Raised off a rounded foot, the bowl has three applied handles which are divided at top and bottom, sweeping out from the side, with a stylised leaf detail at the points of attachment.
The top of the bowl shows a pinched design, flaring out into a reflex rim,
Hallmarked at Sheffield although the date letter is rather rubbed. We believe it to be the ornate lower case ‘g’ signifying the year 1899.
The underside also shows the Walker & Hall maker’s mark together with the numbers 52307 and 73.
Approximately 13.5 cm high by 18 cm in diameter measured from edge to edge of the rim. Maximun width including the handles is around 23 cm. The weight is 786.5 gms
