Terracotta Nude by De Ronnens
Item Description
Large and impressive Art Deco terracotta study of a young, nude woman kneeling and posing with one arm raised above her head.
Her eyes are lowered a little as she arches her back, inclining her head back and to one side.
With her wavy hair falling away over her shoulders, it’s an elegant and somewhat provocative pose which is very typically Art Deco.
Little is known about De Ronnens, who was active during the 20’s and 30’s, although his work does occasionally come up at auction.
In excellent condition with that slightly mottled finish which is sometimes favoured on these old terracottas.
Approximately 55 cm wide by 30 deep and around 59 cm high.
