Terracotta Bust by Schoop for Bernhard Bloch
Art Nouveau terracotta bust of a young girl decorated with a spray of roses and rose buds.
She’s a pretty girl with slightly downcast eyes and her hair in the chignon style that was so favoured by the sculptors of that era.
Finished in an attractive bronze-brown patina with olive green highlights to her hair, the flowers and the leaves.
A part of one petal at the base of the flower has been lost at some stage but otherwise it is in good condition, bearing in mind its age of around 120 years.
Signed T Schoop and marked with the BB initials and numbers inside the base. The height is approximately 40 cm.
