Snake Dancer by Seifert*
Item Description
Striking bronze figure by Victor Heinrich Seifert (b. Vienna, 1870).
This rare piece was made in Berlin around 1910 and depicts a nude woman, with her hair loosely tied into a chignon, holding a snake. She’s standing on a naturalistic rocky base and looking closely into the snake’s eyes while holding it aloft.
There is a lovely aged patina to the bronze which is signed V. Seifert and further mounted on a cylindrical dark green variegated marble base. The overall height is approximately 32 cm.
