Arts & Crafts Silver and Moonstone Pendant
Item Description
Silver Arts & Crafts style pendant with an upright oval outline topped with a swag of ribbons which descend almost hafway down the outside.
Little silver curlicues and whorls separate the outer frame from the centrally set fine oval moonstone, with a smaller one suspended below.
The main stone is open backed with the one in the drop backed with silver, hence the difference in appearance, although this is actually not quite as obvious as in our photographs.
Marked for 925 silver on the bale, together with ‘foreign’, so although we know it’s not English, it is almost certainly European in origin.
The length, including the bale and the drop, is 5.5 cms. with the necklace chain measuring approximately 42 cms.
