Silver and Enamel Winged Scarab Brooch*
Arts & Crafts Egyptian Revival scarab brooch in sterling silver and enamel dating from around the turn of the 19th/20th centuries.
A stylised winged scarab, its wings beautifully enamelled in shades of blue and green between the silver filigree work.
With a mother-of-pearl body and little seed pearls held between its legs, this delightful brooch is completed with a natural pearl drop and is identical to the pendant illustrated on page 38 of the Schiffer book Egyptian Revival Jewelry & Design by Dale Reeves Nicholls.
Also enamelled on the back, it has a width of 4.5 cm.
