Silver and Enamel Pendant attr. to Smith & Ewen*
Item Description
Art Nouveau silver and enamel pendant that, although showing no maker’s mark, is attributed to Smith & Ewen of Birmingham, it being a design we’ve seen before for this maker.
A gently convex square outline, suspended from one corner, with a stylised flower in the centre surrounded by four green leaves and with further enamelled detail at the corners.
The pendant is completed with a typical Smith & Ewen partially enamelled drop and shows on the back a partially worn Chester hallmark for the year 1908.
Measuring just under 5 cm long, including the bake and the drop. The necklace chain , which has a barrel type fastener, is 41 cm in length.
