Pewter Box with Ruskin Cabochons*
Wonderful old hand-made polished pewter box that is full of character – real Arts & Crafts work at its purest.
With a lightly hammered finish and three Ruskin cabochons inset into the lid. Two large bayonet fittings on chains secure the lid in the closed position. Three circular bosses with small central holes decorate the front of the box, allowing air to permeate the interior.
This is a box that has obviously seen plenty of use during its long lifetime but the assorted marks and slightly mis-shapen surfaces just add to its charm.
Measuring approximately 24.5 by 8.5 cm overall and with a height of 9.5 cm.
