Perching Parrot Lamp
Item Description
Great looking carved and turned wooden lamp with a colourful perching parrot holding up the wire connection and suspending the light fitting from its beak.
Fitted with a wonderful old patinated copper and glass beaded fringe type shade. The beads are arranged in a zig-zag pattern incorporating vivid red coloured glass rods. Very few of these shades have survived the years intact and this one is in lovely condition.
A fraction below 56 cm high by approximately 30 cm wide at its widest.
Professionally rewired to meet current safety standards and fitted with an in-line on/off switch.
Probably German or Austrian and dating from around 1910-15.
