Silver and Rock Crystal Necklace attr. to Georgie Gaskin

Item Description

English Arts & Crafts silver wirework necklace set with foiled rock crystals, the design attributed to Mrs. Georgie Gaskin.

Beautifully constructed, as with virtually everything from the Gaskin workshops, and with an open lightness of look that betrays the amount of work put into the crafting of this fine necklace.

The main pendant hangs from a central surmount and a pair of short chains connect both to the necklace chain via side attachments which are also set with teardrop shaped faceted rock crystal stones.

Dating from circa 1900-1905, the chain work is all original, as is the distinctive clasp.

N.B. A not too dissimilar necklace by Mrs. Gaskin is illustrated on page 296 of The Studio, vol. 26, 1902.
