Necklace attr. to Marius Hammer*
Item Description
Stylish Skønvirke festoon necklace that, although unmarked, we are quite sure is from the worshops of Marius Hammer (1847-1927).
A complex, openwork design crafted in silver gilt into a row of stylised flowers with plique-à-jour enamelled detail and blue and white enamelled centres.
Beneath the flowers hang short lengths of chain each with an orange-red enamelled teardrop shaped drop suspended below. These alternate with a series of matching ornate filigree designs in silver gilt, each one suspending the same vividly coloured enamelled drops.
Fitted with the original push/pull and twist barrel type clasp that we’ve seen on other Marius Hammer necklaces.
Dating from the early 1900’s and in excellent condition with a length of 42 cm.
