Murrle Bennett 15 ct. Gold Brooch
Item Description
Striking Art Nouveau brooch in 15 ct. gold made by Murrle Bennett & Co. around the very early 1900’s, and so typical of the jewellery supplied by that maker to the Liberty of London store.
Open in design, with a shield-shaped outline displaying the sinuous lines so beloved by the Art Nouveau artists and designers of the time.
Set in the centre is a splendid and large turquoise matrix stone that contrasts beautifully with the gold that frames it.
Clearly marked MBCo on the back and also impressed 15 ct.
The brooch measures a little over 3 cms. wide by just under 3 cms. high.
