Long Haired Mermaid beneath a Blue Sky
Item Description
Delightful circular framed enamel on copper of a mermaid seated on a sandy beach.
Her long tail is curled to one side of her as she looks out to sea towards what appears to be a galleon on the horizon beneath white clouds and deep blue sky.
Enamelled in rich colours, somewhat in the style of the French impressionist painters and although unsigned, we understand it to be English in origin, dating from circa 1910.
Set in a dedicated recessed wooden frame with beaded detail which sets the picture off perfectly.
The overall diameter is 16 cm with the visible enamel measuring 10.5 cm.
