Limoges Enamel Butterfly Brooch
Circular framed enamel on copper brooch in the Limoges style, signed on the reverse with the name J. Brevers, Paris.
Dating from around 1930, the concave copper plaque is quite beautifully enamelled with the scene of a butterfly alighting on a sprig of apple blossom against a vivid sunset hued background.
Little beads of clear glass accentuate the flower petals and the wings of the insect are enamelled in relief, giving a three-dimensional look.
Securely fixed within a silver frame with a rope patterned edge.
A touch over 5 cm in diameter.
