Life in the Windmill
Not exactly Art Nouveau but certainly from the late 1800's, this is a charming and atmospheric oil painting of the interior of a working windmill at around that time.
Showing an elderly lady, highlighted by the light from the window in front of her, with her hands in a sack of grain. The sight of her going about her task, the old timbers of the beams and the large mill wheel, take you back to times when life's pace was somewhat more leisurely than it is today.
Signed by the French artist P. Fiette and nicely framed. Approximately 54 X 46 cm including the frame.
