Gold Necklace with Caged Pearls*
Late Victorian era pendant necklace in high carat gold comprising a circle of baroque peals all caged with gold wirework and further detailed with tiny turquoise cabochons.
In the centre of the circle a single pearl in the same fashion is suspended and yet another forms the lower drop.
The pendant hangs on two short lengths of chain from a wonderfully irregular pearl in a gold setting which connects to the necklace chain.
There is the remnant of a mark on the back but unfortunately we are unable to decipher it. However we are confident that this necklace is a minimum of 15 ct.
The length is 7 cm including the pearl suspender and the drop, with the remainder of the necklace chain measuring 43 cm.
