James Cartland Tea Caddy*

Item Description

Arts & Crafts copper tea caddy divided into two compartments made by James Cartland and Sons of Birmingham around 1910.

Basically rectangular in shape and standing on an angled, inwards tapering base, the caddy itself widens towards the top, and has a hinged lid similar in design to a pitched roof.

Worked with the word ‘Tea’ on the front panel and with decorative repoussé ovals on each of the two ends and the rear.

In good, polished condition, commensurate with age, and a reasonable size at approximately 21 cm wide by 11.5 deep.  The height is a little over 10 cm.
