‘In Confidence’ by Bernhard Bloch*
Humorous and very rare old Bernhard Bloch ceramic sculpture of two Jewish merchants in conversation. The taller of the two gentlemen appears to be imparting some trade secret to the other one who is smiling while he listens.
This is a really expressive piece dating from around 1880 which transports the onlooker straight back in time to the streets of old Vienna. Lovely detail in the clothes and the faces are just wonderful.
