“Rebecca”, by the artist Cherc, perfectly captures the romanticism of the Art Nouveau movement, with her faraway look, her long flowing hair and soft draped gown. She is pausing by a wall, hand on hip and looking extremely elegant while resting awhile from her water-fetching task.
Decorated in gold, this is one of the classic Goldscheider statues and was made in terracotta in three sizes, this being the mid-sized one at around 65 cm high.
