Gold Locket with White Coral and Rock Crystal
Mid Victorian circular 15 ct. gold locket set with a prominent foiled rock crystal cabochon in its centre, encircled by a single row of white coral beads.
The series of concentric circles continues with a finely beaded detail and is completed with a rope-patterned design all around the edge.
Turn the locket over and the central section can be lifted out to enable a photograph to be inserted behind the clear protective cover, and there is also space for a curl of hair or other tiny keepsake.
The diameter is 4 cm and the 9 ct. gold necklace chain is approximately 42 cm long.
Dating from circa 1860’s.
