Gold and Enamel Locket with Pearls*
Item Description
Mid Victorian oval 18 ct. gold locket decorated with a harlequin pattern of alternating rich blue enamel and set pearls.
Each pearl has a little gold dot at the four corners of its cell, and a rope patterned gold edge to the locket adds further decorative detail.
The reverse shows a finely etched pattern of fruits and leaves within a diamond shaped border.
Hinged at one side, the locket opens at the back to reveal a glass covered aperture lined in blue. It opens and shuts positively with a reassuring gentle click.
The locket and its bale measure 3 cm in length and we’ve paired it with a 15 ct. gold rope patterned chain with a barrel type clasp, which has a total length of 39 cm.
If preferred this locket can be supplied without the chain at the price of £525.
