French Art Nouveau Brooch-Pendant
Silver-gilt French Art Nouveau brooch-pendant with plique-à-jour eamelling, set with marcasites and a little pink tourmaline stone in the centre of the spray.
A fluid design, approximately oval in outline and very three-dimensional with the slightly convex cluster of windswept leaves overlaying the frame.
At the foot is a fine Mississippi wing pearl forming the drop.
Fitted behind with a pin for wearing as a brooch and with a removeable chain for use when wearing as a pendant.
Marked twice but rather indistinctly on the C clasp with one looking to be a French silver mark.
Early 1900’s and just a touch over 3.5 cm wide. The necklace chain is 46 cm long.
