French Aesthetic Gold and Diamond Brooch
Rare, very unusual and quite beautiful 18 ct. gold brooch in the French Aesthetic style by Lefebvre Fils Ainé dating from circa 1880.
Oval in outline and with an enamelled scene depicting a gaily dressed young musician playing a lute surrounded by plants and flowers.
The brooch is neatly edged with a border of small diamonds and even the back shows an engraved leafy design.
There is a little wear to the knees of the young man’s blue trousers – which in fact leaves him looking quite fashionable by today’s standards…
