Oak framed papier maché on vellum picture of three stylised peacocks with their wings spread as they fly up over a wall with tall flowers all along the top.
In the manner of a frieze, the peacocks are repeated across the width and the whole image has a distinctly Liberty look about it.
The combination of the three dimensional surface and muted colours works perfectly, giving the image an understated elegance and charm.
A rare find, approximately 50.5 cm high by 51.5 wide and in good condition with just an old minor scar in the area above the tail feathers of the left hand peacock.
Dating from the early 1900’s.
