Folies Bergère Dancing Girl
Item Description
Striking oil on panel dating from circa 1940 of a young Folies Bergère dancer.
A strongly stylised and atmospheric image showing the nude girl in her stage make-up posing in front of a large fan with her head thrown nonchalantly back.
In its original frame which bears a stamp on the back with the details of the Parisian gallery that originally sold it.
The painting is apparently unsigned although we have not removed it from its frame to examine the edges that are covered. However it has been reliably confirmed as having been executed in the late 30's to early 40's.
Total size, including the frame, is 83.5 cm by 62.5. The image measures approximately 63.5 X 42.5 cm.
