Enamelled Grasshopper Brooch*
Item Description
An Arts & Crafts / Art Nouveau silver and enamel grasshopper brooch dating from the late 1890’s.
The colourful insect, richly enammelled in shades of blue and green, is holding a little encased pearl in its front legs which it appears to be studying with great concentration.
Amost certainly English although unmarked. The back is also enamelled and fitted with a C-clasp.
A good size at a fraction under 7 cm wide.
