Butterfly Maiden
Item Description
Good size French plaster bust titled “Papillon”, signed verso by the artist C. Jacobs and dated 1913. The young girl, with long thick hair, has her head slightly turned and a butterfly with its wings outspread is sitting where the two sides of her loosely tied top meet. She has a quite delightful face and appears to be gazing wistfully into the distance.
Finished in a pleasing all over bronzy-green colour, the height is around 50 cm. Good overall condition with a little age-related paint loss here and there.
