Brooch attr. to Rhoda Wager
Item Description
Arts & Crafts brooch crafted in both silver and gold attributed to the English born Rhoda Wager (1875-1953) who studied under Bernard Cuzner before eventually settling in Australia and resuming her jewellery making career in her early 40’s.
An elongated diamond shape and openwork in design, the framework, winding stems and berries are all in silver with the leaves worked in gold.
Set in the centre is a strongly coloured opal doublet.
Unmarked but we are pretty sure about the attribution and with a width of 3.75 cm.
