Bronze ‘Silvia’ by Villanis
Item Description
Good Art Nouveau patinated bronze bust titled ‘Silvia’ by Emmanuel Villanis (1858-1914).
The young girl’s face has that usual very distinctive Villanis look, with her eyes slightly lowered and an expression of quiet confidence.
Signed on the right shoulder, with a crisp L.V Deposée foundry mark below and numbered 9859.
Showing a few very minor touches of wear to the patina but still in good condition and with a height of approximately 28 cm.
There is a rather touching plaque attached to the front acknowledging a twenty-five year friendship between 1882 and 1907.
