Barnet Henry Joseph Gold and Peridot Pendant

Item Description

Art Nouveau pendant in 9 ct. gold from the workshops of Barnet Henry Joseph who crafted fine jewellery in Birmingham between 1865 and 1929.

This pendant dates from the very early 1900’s and is very much in the favoured Art Nouveau style of the day.

Loosely oval in outline with an openwork design that winds its way from the centre, passing both over and under itself as it curves around.

Set in the centre is an oval faceted peridot and immediately below this are suspended five chains of varied lengths, each with a little baroque pearl at the foot.

The pendant hangs on two sort lengths of chain from a central ring which connects to the necklace chain.

Just 6.5 cms. long, including the ring and the longest drop, with the necklace chain measuring 46 cms. in in length.
