Atalante Group by De Marco*
Much loved Art Deco spelter sculpture by De Marco known as ‘Atalante’ which is seen in a few different sizes and versions. This one shows the huntress, with bow in hand and her hair streamlining behind her, closely following a leaping ibex.
Mounted on a sloping portoro marble base, it is a piece typifying that combination of speed and elegance which the Deco artists strived to capture in their work.
In good overall condition with the attractive green patination showing just a few of the usual minor age-related marks.
Around 38 cm wide and 32 cm high to the top of her bow. Dating from the early 30’s.
