Art Nouveau Silver Belt
Lovely set of twelve matching Art Nouveau silver plaques and a silver fastener, threaded on to a black velvet belt.
Each one is hallmarked for 1902 and also bears the maker’s mark AJS for Arthur Johnson-Smith. The fastener is also hallmarked.
A real Art Nouveau design with flowers, sinuous tendrils and heart shapes. These must be pretty rare and we’ve certainly never seen them before.
We have not attempted to have them fixed to a different backing, feeling that the new owner would best have this done, not least to ensure that the belt will then be a good fit.
The condition is very good.
